Why does Absolut vodka deliberately mispell their flavors?

peppar, raspberri, mandrin, vanilia, kurant, apeach, citron

what gives? why are they acting all retarded like a 14 year old internet forum poster? is sweden a nation full of people who can't spell to save their lives?|||Many of the words are in Swedish.

Absolut, peppar, kurant, citron, are all ordinary swedish words, although not always applied to what you'd expect. kurant doesn't mean currant, vinb盲r does, but I guess nobody in the US could spell or say vinb盲r properly - kurant means healthy, so it's actually a bit of a multilingual pun.|||It is just a marketing gimmick so many companies use today and been doing so for a very long time too.|||prolly to be different. Absolut is the wrong way to spell absolute...going with the company trend i guess.|||Oh my gosh it works

We are talking about Booze|||My guess is it probably has something to do with Vodka being Russian|||It is a marketing thing. They are making themselves distinctive.|||Because it's more of a pronunciation thing. The e in absolute is silent so why no leave it off making absolut.|||No it is to create a trademark and protect their specific infusions. Companies often change spelling to distinguish themselves in the market place. It is a marketing strategy.
