You are mixing to much alcohol in. Up the ratio of mixer and lower the ratio of alcohol. Say something like this; 2 parts OJ to 1 part vodka.

Fill glass to top with ice. Put in ONE SHOT of VODKA. Fill rest of glass with cranberry or juice or whatever you like to drink it with.
For a tall glass, double it up.|||Too much vodka. most of the time it is 1 oz , sometimes 1 1/2. get yourself a measuring cup for drink.|||Put some water or some club soda|||You might need to experiment with the amount of vodka you like in your drink. Try one oz first then add a little as you go until its just right. Also, Try changing vodka brands. Absolut is a cheap brand and you could try a more expensive, smoother vodka. Absolut vodka, perth WA?
anyone know if absolut vodka is on special anywhere this week in perth, western australia?|||Absolut is the best of the lower priced vodkas, but if you have the money to spend, I'd suggest Krolewska (I doubt if I spelled it correctly). It's real Polish potato vodka (the bottle has a cathedral window on it) -- really smooth!

The Pear flavor is very good, try it with Sprite.
The Apeach is good, I like it with OJ and peach schnapps.
The New Orleans mango/pepper flavor is good with v8, especially lemon.
The "classic" Absolut flavors, Citron and Mandarin, are also great picks for Sprite or Coke.|||the absolut "APear" and "APeach" are very tasty when served correctly. The apear flavor goes fantastically with ice and sprite, and the apeach goes well shaken with some pineapple and orange juice.
unfortunately, the raspberi vodka that they put out doesnt have quite the authentic rasberry flavor that alot of other vodkas offer. if you are going to go with berry flavor vodka, i would stick with stolichnaya bluberi or raspberi, or even hangar 1's rasberry infused vodka.|||I also tried raspberry, and I'm hoping all of the other flavours are better, because it was disgusting. I would have rather drank straight vodka. What does absolut vodka taste like?!?
It's my birthday and I am going out tomorrowwith my roommates. My friend gave me less than half a bottle of regular absolut vodka and I am wondering what it is like. Does it go down smooth if it's straight? Since it's my first time drinking, would it knock me out if I drank about 250mL of it? If so what if I mixed it and any good easy suggestions? Thanks!|||Absolute is 100 proof (50% alcohol). It's a pretty standard vodka taste as it tastes how rubbing alcohol smells. If you are going to take shots of it, I'd recommend chilling them in a shaker before taking. And if it is your first time drinking, take it slow! 250mL is about 6 shots (at 1.5 oz) but absolute is 10% stronger than normal 80 proof vodka. If you mix it, vodka mixed with cranberry juice is a good (girly) drink. Vodka goes well with pretty much all fruit juices as well as most soft drinks. A good warm weather drink is a strong mixture of lemonade and iced tea with a shot or two of vodka.|||Stick it in the freezer as well as a few shot glasses... liquid ice... mmmm!

2 parts Absolut Pears
3 parts Raspberry Soda
Strawberry (if you want)
Chill a highball glass with ice or in the freezer. Pour absolut pears, and raspberry soda into a mixing glass. Fill the mixing glass with dry ice cubes and stir. Remove the ice and meltwater from the highball glass. Strain the drink into the highball glass. Garnish with a strawberry (whole).|||That sounds yummy L - but I drink it straight. Annexing the south western states is not only an act of war against theses states and thus the United States as a whole, its even if it were successful it would just reduce the south westerns States to the same poverty and instability that had constantly pledge Mexico thou out almost all of it's history.
In short every immigrant that came to find work here would not only loses that work but would be joined by about 60 million more competing work in the renaming stable United States.
There is no difference between the land in the South western States and that of northern Mexico except that the Federal union of the United States has enabled us too develop and uses it much more effectively, instead of constantly being torn down by corrupt and unstable Mexico. Absolut vodka pears + apple juice = wine?
I was trying out new drinks and i mixed absolut pears vodka with apple juice and it tasted like red wine!! has anyone felt this way ? |||Wow i have never tried that. But why waste the drink to make red wine mix it with pop next time ok. If you want red wine go get some.

You know, I've only seen it at specialty stores, like the Wine %26amp; Cheese Place or at premium martini bars. PERHAPS... if you're really sweet... the bar owner can order you a bottle from his distributor if you can't find it elsewhere.|||Tesco stock some of the Absoluts as do IKEA, if you have any of those local to you. Can't remember the flavours they have.|||I agree with the Waitrose suggestion as they do have a great stock of wines, beers and spirits.

A great SHOT would be to mix it with Bailey's Irish Cream.|||Sprite

Also try making a cosmo with the raspberry vodka. 1 1/2 oz of the vodka, 1/2 oz of Cointreau (or another brand of triple sec, cointreau is just the traditional), splash of fresh lime or lemon, whatever you prefer, and about an oz of cranberry juice. You could also make a Chocolate covered raspberry martini by mixing the absolut with creme de cocoa (i'd recommend the light for this martini) and a little 1/2 and 1/2 for richness.
You can also mix in a splash of Chambord to whatever drink you're making for a slightly sweeter taste and more raspberry flavor.|||Sprite or Club Soda is good. . .Gingerale. . .Red Bull. . . .It's also good as a punch or in mixed things like Jello Shots|||Lemonade works good - Electric lemonade. As the title says, I'm looking for some cheap drink recipes that work well with regular Absolut vodka (as in unflavored.) By cheap I mean one that requires no additional alcohol, and doesn't contain too many ingredients. Simple syrups, and other such ingredients are fine.

Golden Gummy Bears + Absolut Vodka. How to I put the 2 together?
Went to a bar the other day and he sold Golden Bear vodka shots. He said he puts the 2 together, but had to water it down a bit to stop the shots being too thick. The net just says how to make vodka bears (so the bears fill up with Vodka), whereas I want to flavour the vodka with golden bears!|||1 package jello (any flavor works)
1 cup vodka
1 cup boiling water
1 pack gummy bears
Dissolve 1 package Jello into the boiling water. Once dissolved and the cup of vodka. Pour into individual shot glasses, I prefer to use disposable Dixie bathroom cups they are perfect for large quantities of shots.
After pouring drop a gummy bear into each shot(mixing colors gives nice effect).

Why did my unopened bottle of Absolut Vodka freeze solid overnight in my freezer?
I am living in Italy for a semester. I bought a bottle of Absolut Vodka from the supermarket yesterday, put it in the freezer like I always do, and when I opened up my freezer the vodka in the bottle was frozen almost completely solid, I'd say at least 95% frozen. I was under the impression that it was (nearly) impossible for hard liquor to freeze, and have never seen it happen before. What gives?!

It still has the plastic seal around the cap, nobody could have tampered with it or watered it down. Additionally, it still has the official Italian liquor and tobacco stamp on it, so it seems unlikely that it is fake. It's marked as 80 proof, just like always.
Also, liquor freezes at -175 degrees Fahrenheit, there is no way my freezer is that cold.

1.5 oz. vanilla vodka
0.25 oz. white creme de cacao
0.25 oz. Godiva chocolate liqueur
Garnish with chocolate shavings if you want the extra cavity.

Here's an interesting observation I made today: From a smaller store, I bought a 750ml of Absolut (hugely popular brand, big big retail bucks) and I thought it had funny hard taste. I bought another 750ml from my usual store today and this is what's up: check under the bottle and look for 2 small micro differences in bottle engraving (I'm not prepared to go into details here). Also, look on the seal (King's head). There was a small difference in both bottles that I have. That's all I can say here.|||Only buy the vodka from a reputable liquor store or grocery store. Make sure that the bottle is sealed.
As far as counterfeit bottles, counterfeits are sometimes VERY good quality (as far as nearness to the authentic).

Generally speaking, the rule is "Beer before liquor - never been sicker. Liquor before beer, you're in the clear." It is unfortunate that 'Absolut' did not have the wisdom of foresight to understand the serious repercussions of this ill-timed ad.
As short-lived as the ad was, - I feel that 'Absolut' will see a marked deleterious effect on their bottom-line because of it - for a boycott of 'Absolut' by many pi$$ed-off Americans is all but inevitable.
At this moment I have 3/4 of a bottle of 'Absolut' vodka stored in my freezer which, following this post, - I am going to store down my drain.

Whats the difference between Absolut and skyy vodka?
My face breaks out in a rash when I drink absolut, but not skyy. Why is that?|||Both vodkas are distilled from grains and filtered multiple times. There should be no difference in reaction from one to the other as they are both highly refined ethanols.
Of the two Absolut has a better production process, more craft and quality. They do leave a little trace element of the original ingredients for subtle flavor and bouquet, but if you are that allergic to wheat, then skyy should cause you to break out too, and a piece of bread would have killed you long ago.
The Skyy process is down and dirty industrially produced bathtub slop that they distill the hell out of until they can call it vodka. They actually start out using byproducts from fuel refineries brought in on train tankers. It is terribly overpriced once you know how little craft is incorporated in the process of making it. But the blue plastic on the bottle is pretty, so it's not a total wash.
Be sure to remember what foods you had the next time you have a reaction. This is more likely the source of your reaction. Also remember the rate that you consumed the alcohol- you may find that you break out in a rash when you exceed your body's ability to assimilate the alcohol, and not from what type of alcohol you drink. I am assuming that neither of the vodkas were flavored. If they were, then the flavor adulterant is probably the culprit.

It's a birthday gift and i need it for the next friday ...|||Try looking up Absolut and Smirnoff's websites - they have have a section where you can personalize a label and be mailed to you...if not consider doing one up on your computer...|||since it is such short notice, your best bet would be to go with the smirnoff and do a photoshop label to put on the bottle... you can get either from the distibuter but it is pricey and takes a while to special order it.

As for recommendations, it really is a matter of preference. But, I like Citron (A), Vanilla (A), Pear (A) and Black Cherry (S).|||ABSOLUT Vodka hands down has some of the best flavors on the market. They use natural infusion of ingredients and buy only the top ingredients available on the market. For example they use Madagascar vanilla in their ABSOLUT VANILLIA. They are also one of the few who do not add ANY sugars or artificial flavoring to their line hence the reason their flavors are at 80 proof. Smirfnoff is good but at 70 proof they are adding artificial flavoring or sugars...|||you are comparing Absolute flavored vodka with Smirnoff Twisted vodka... since Smirnoff Ice is a malt beverage/alcopop, its not really fair to compare.
smirnoff tends to add more sugar, and has a cloying sweetness that absolute doesn't have. absolute has a smooth and still very distinct flavor profile.

Does absolut vodka vanilia flavor actually taste like vanilla?

3)would you choose the normal flavor over it?|||It has a mild vanilla overtaste, no it doesn't taste like vanilla ice cream. Think of taking a bottle of vodka and adding a few drops of vanilla extract to it.
I actually prefer lemon, chili pepper or plain. But of the flavored vodkas, absolut or stoli are considered the top brands by real drinkers (not wannabe's who think that expensive is automaticly good)I think the vanilla flavor makes it taste artificial, not fresh or perky like the other flavors
I actually prefer tequilla, but when I drink vodka Absoluti is one of my choices. As I said, I prefer lemon, or plain|||it does taste like vanilla friends of mine like it.. I'm not much of the vanilla fan myself. You can mix it in soda and make almost like a vanilla coke flavor. I like plain vodka myself or Raspberry. If you take a raspberry shot and chase it with cranberry juice "good brand of it though" you will hardly taste the vodka at all. That's is if that's what your going for. But yea vanilla vodka is worth trying. might be something you really like.|||I would buy both if I still had a drink now and then. I live in Burlington,NJ|||The NJ prices are Absolut Vodka $26, Everclear $23.|||Absolut runs about $20 for a .750 ml bottle, and Everclear is about $18 for a .750 ml bottle. The bottle is encased in a gold case. Not many bottle shops stock it.|||+ I don't think you can get it "Off the Rack" there. It may be a special order item and you may have to have the licensed store owner get it for you.
Is Georgi vodka just as good as Absolut?
I usually drink Absolut vodka when I go out, my sister picked up a bottle of Georgi vodka and I've never tried it before. Any opinions? is it just as good? I don't feel like getting sick tonight. haha

Hope you don't get to that point. Shots will just all of a sudden hit you. If you don't feel it yet don't keep doing shots cause when it hits you its like all 5 shots hit you at once. Be careful.|||assuming that you are drinking a shot that is at least 1.25 oz and they are taken one right after the other and the vodka 40% ABV it would take 2 shots to put you over the legal limit of .08.|||Im about 100 pounds, female, and 5'3.

What do you think, grey goose or absolut vodka?
I got to say that if your looking for a very tasteful glass of Vodka, go with Grey Goose. This brand of Vodka is fabulous and does not need to be hidden with sugar substitute flavors such as rasberry or strawberry or lemon, lime. Infact by drinking Grey Goose you will not get that I NEED ADVIL hangover in the morning. The cost for Grey goose is more than your cheap bottle of Absolut but THE TASTE is much better. You will thank me.
Grey goose goes down smoother and has a more refined elegant taste.

What different ounce sizes do the absolut vodka bottles come in?
They come in mililiter sizes. I'm not sure of the conversion to ounces. There's the mini bottle which is 50 ml, I think. Then it goes 200ml, 375ml, 500 ml, 750ml, 1 liter, and 1.75 liters|||if you want the answer above in ounces, click on this link and you can enter the mililiters and it will tell you the equivalent in ounces
